Driver Of The Month: June
It’s that time of the month, and once again it’s been another competitive tussle for Engineius’ most prestigious prize. As always, there can only be one winner…
Our exceptional Driver of the Month has been praised by our customers for their diligence and excellent customer service, and their work to date has helped us reach new milestones throughout June.
We have promised our winner we would not publicly reveal their identity, however, this will not prevent our praise to this driver. On behalf of everyone from Engineius - thank you!
We spoke with our winner earlier in the week to find out more about their secrets to success!
What do you love most about the job?
I completely love the freedom working as an Engineius driver gives me. Every day is different and never boring! I get to see all these different places, meet loads of different people, and most importantly, drive unique and different cars.
How do you ensure you deliver vehicles on time?
The best way I ensure this is by remaining conscious of the number of jobs I take on week by week. It is important to factor in delays and any possible circumstances which could increase the chances of not delivering the vehicle on time. Having this mindset helps me deliver vehicles to very satisfied customers!
What has been your best experience with Engineius so far?
The best experience I have had so far is being able to see new sights and visit new places that I have never been to before. It’s one of my favourite aspects of my job, and I’m looking forward to the many more locations I’ll get to see in the future!
How many miles do you do on average a week?
I drive my fair share - averaging anywhere between 1200-1500 miles a week.
What do you think are the secrets behind getting to where you’ve got to?
I started off slowly by taking on only a few local jobs. I reached out to the Ops team for help until I had the knowledge and confidence to take on more work. One of the best secrets I can give is to speak to others if you are stuck - it will help you understand your job better.
What drives you to succeed in this job?
To put it simply, this job gives me happiness and freedom and having the flexibility also helps to ensure I do a great job.
Do you reconcile your jobs and expenses on a regular basis?
I keep up to date with my expenses but it can be challenging when balancing my lifestyle outside of Engineius. I have an envelope for each month in which I put my receipts, and every day I keep an up-to-date diary of all the jobs I do. This helps a lot so that when I reconcile jobs and expenses, it ties up very easily.
What are you most excited for this year?
Like before, getting to see more places and driving a broader range of vehicles!
What makes Engineius a special place to work?
I find Engineius special because the team has always been helpful, polite, and friendly, and it’s good to know that you can always ask for help. They are always there to listen to me and I can even have a laugh with them. The flexibility and freedom that Engineius allows me to have makes me feel lucky to be a part of this company.
What is the best advice you can give other drivers?
The best advice I would give to a new driver starting in the role would be to join with a sense of adventure and a relaxed mindset! I found that when I started to panic, it wouldn’t help and it would actually make my job more difficult. Plan your jobs and routes in advance, and always carry the essentials in your bag. Get some great waterproofs as, after all, we are in the UK! Also, always remember that the Ops team are at the end of the phone to help - you won’t be the first to encounter an issue and you won’t be the last. Most importantly, enjoy the views as you travel around and the beautiful locations on offer.
By winning Driver of the Month, you not only have the opportunity to feature on the company website, but you will also receive a brand new high-vis Engineius-branded jacket as a thank you from the Engineius team for all your hard work! Could you be our July Driver of the Month?
