What do you love most about the job?
The flexibility of the work, taking a well deserved rest and knowing where you will be at the end of the day.
The flexibility also allows me to work on my other projects, such as the Harold Kenneth Hartley collection where I am the archivist for.
How do you ensure you deliver vehicles on time?
In this job, planning is key, and a good knowledge of the road and motorway system is advantageous.
I use several apps to plan my journey and don't stick to just one📱
What has been your best experience with Engineius so far?
Whilst walking to the train station after dropping into Church Fenton I heard an unfamiliar sound in the air, turning around and looking up I saw a Spitfire coming into land at the airfield there.
How many miles do you do on average a week?
Around 1100 miles I’d say.
What do you think are the secrets behind getting to where you’ve got to?
I am flexible regarding requests from the Operations team, taking on each movement as a personal project and doing my best to ensure a safe and timely delivery.
What drives you to succeed in this job?
Personal job satisfaction and knowing that I am providing great service not just to Engineius but to their customers too.
Do you reconcile your jobs and expenses on a regular basis?
Every 2 weeks 💼
What are you most excited about this year?
To see the continuing growth of the number one vehicle movement company in the UK and the pride that I will feel being a part of it.
What makes Engineius a special place to work?
You have the full team at Engineius behind you, they're only a phone call away for any questions that you may have regarding the movement you're on.
They now have a dedicated telephone numbers for specific queries so you're never waiting too long to speak to a member of the team.
What is the best advice you can give other drivers?
Don't take on too many movements at once, yes, the money is excellent, but you have to be confident in being able to complete the jobs in a safe and timely fashion. Also, being late on one job could mean that you have to forgo the following jobs.
Always abide by the rules of the road and the rules of common sense.
