Employee of the Month: Kieran Hancock
Congratulations to Kieran Hancock, our Onboarding & Planning Coordinator for being awarded Employee of the Month.
This month, our employees voted for their colleague who displays our We Care value.
From ensuring drivers are well-equipped for their movements to looking after his team, Kieran’s impact doesn’t go unnoticed. His efforts have earned him great feedback from both drivers and customers, making him a well-deserved Employee of the Month!
What do you do for Engineius?
I’m part of the Onboarding and Planning team, where we help new drivers get up to speed—literally and figuratively. Our job is to guide them through a 4-6 week support program, making sure they don’t just survive but thrive. We provide movement recommendations tailored to each driver and teach them the dark arts of efficient planning (it’s less Hogwarts, more Google Maps mastery).
Our goal? To turn new recruits into fully operational, self-sufficient drivers. We do this by helping them hit two key milestones: first, completing 10 movements. Once they cross that finish line, they graduate from the program and join the wider driver network, where they take full control of their schedules. It’s like passing your driving test, but with fewer awkward hill starts.
What motivates you to do well in your role?
Seeing drivers hit that all-important 10-job milestone and knowing we played a part in their success. There’s also something great about hearing how much they enjoy the job and what makes Engineius different.
Plus, working with a fantastic team makes a huge difference—good people, good vibes, and just the right amount of tea and coffee to keep things running smoothly.
What playlist do you listen to in the car the most?
I listen to a bit of everything, but right now, I’m deep into the Genesys album by ANYMA. It’s got the perfect balance of energy and atmosphere—ideal for both long drives and existential crises about traffic.
What do you like most about working for Engineius?
The people. I genuinely enjoy coming into work because of the relationships I have with different teams. We keep things professional but still know how to have a laugh—because let’s be honest, work is always better when you actually like the people you work with.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
A glass of red wine and a good movie is my go-to, but a trip to the Ricoh Arena to watch the Sky Blues is a very close second. Nothing like the emotional rollercoaster of football to really relax you, right?
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
Apparently, the world’s biggest consumer of glitter is a closely guarded secret. Who needs spy novels when you have unsolved glitter mysteries? ✨
Describe one thing you've learnt in your role?
I’ve learned to be more empathetic towards our drivers out on the road, dealing with whatever the weather throws at them. It’s easy to forget when you’re sat in a nice, warm office with a coffee that someone else is outside handling real-time issues.
What’s a hobby or interest you have that might surprise your colleagues?
I love building Lego. I hate to admit it, but my collection is actually pretty impressive. Let’s just say, if Lego building were an Olympic sport, I’d at least make the qualifying rounds.
