Transitioning from Lockdown into Regional Tiers

Engineius continues to operate its full vehicle movement service to support customers and suppliers across all regions and nations of the UK.

Blanket lockdown restrictions expired in England on Wednesday 2 December, as regional restrictions once again took effect.

We would like to reassure all of our partners that we are monitoring Government policy across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We do not forecast any regulations that will restrict us from operating, however, we would like to highlight the ongoing risks to service disruption during this period.

Our learnings from the second lockdown regarding service and network availability are as follows:

#1: Tiering: While we do not anticipate any service issues in Tiers One & Two, there could be an impact on services in Tier Three. This is especially true of movements placed at late notice; some local drivers continue to shield or self-isolate, with remaining drivers travelling longer distances to pick-up points.

#2: Public transport: Availability of public transport continues to be restricted, with less frequent services affecting our ability to guarantee movements placed with short notice in some areas of the country.

#3: Christmas: We do anticipate some capacity issues in the four-day lead-up to Christmas, as drivers in Tier Three areas decide to isolate in order to ensure they can spend Christmas with their families. However, there is usually a corresponding reduction in demand for vehicle movement at this time, and as a result we do not believe this will cause service issues generally.

We are, of course, taking all necessary measures to ensure that all suppliers, customers and staff stay safe at this time. Our full Covid-19 policy can be accessed here. Our contactless handover process can be accessed here

We will communicate any changes to our operation or government policy that affects the vehicle movement industry to all relevant parties.

In the meantime, we hope everyone is keeping well and safe.
