Driver Of The Month: February 2022

It's that time of the month! Our drivers have been phenomenal once again, and it was very tricky to decide who deserved Engineius' most prestigious award for February. However, the panel has spoken…

We are thrilled to announce Jermaine Edwards as our Driver of the Month for February!

Jermaine has worked with us for a few years now (pre-Covid!) and continuously makes Engineius proud. He always leads by example for our ever-growing supplier network and we expect more of this to come as we grow.

As always, a big thank you from all of us, including our customers, and we look forward to working with you as we progress deeper into 2022!

What do you love most about the job?

The thing I love most is the flexibility of the job. I enjoy travelling, meeting new people and giving a good service. Being able to choose the jobs myself enables me to plan and earn at my own leisure, meaning I can do a full week, or I can choose to have days off.

How do you ensure you deliver vehicles on time?

I plan ahead of time, making sure I include allowances for delays. Thinking of backup plans ahead of time can always save lots of time. Also, consider traffic delays, cars not being ready, or vehicles not being available on time! ⌚

What has been your best experience with Engineius so far?

There are a few best bits to list. Travelling to many beautiful places, staying in lovely accommodation, and banter with the office and fellow drivers! 😄

How many miles do you do on average a week?

The miles I do per week average from 900 upwards…

What do you think are the secrets behind getting to where you’ve got to?

I think the secrets behind getting me to this level are knowing that it’s a constant learning game. Every area, customer and client base varies, so experience plays a big part. Building a good working relationship with companies is a necessity and taking the time to check out an area beforehand helps.

What drives you to succeed in this job?

From when I started to now, the company has really grown, I look forward to it growing more and seeing the benefits that brings - this drives me to succeed.

Do you reconcile your jobs and expenses on a regular basis?

I always make sure to reconcile my jobs and expenses as soon as I finish a job, so I don’t have a backlog.

What are you most excited about this year?

I'm excited to see what more is in store for all of us at Engineius, especially regarding contracts and more opportunities for vehicle movement 🤝

What makes Engineius a special place to work?

Engineius is a special place to work. As much as I'm self-employed, I am also part of a team. Having great team members ranging from the office to fellow drivers helps make the atmosphere and general vibe that much better.

What is the best advice you can give other drivers?

I would advise to always plan in advance if and when possible, e.g. bus routes, walk routes. Carrying enough money for emergency situations, e.g. taxi, extra petrol. Google is great sometimes, but it is not always reliable - ask people for directions or routes. Lastly, check cars thoroughly at pick up and drop off.

By winning Driver of the Month, you not only have the opportunity to feature on the company website, but you will also receive a brand new high-vis Engineius-branded jacket as a thank you from the Engineius team for all your hard work! Could you be our March Driver of the Month?
