Driver Of The Month: March 2022
End of March already?! 2022 seems to be flying, and rightly so - Engineius has been busier than ever this year!
And as we continue to complete even more movements, there have been some noticeable standout drivers in our network…
Of course, only one can be our Driver of the Month. So, without further ado, we are extremely pleased to announce Simon Foster as our winner for March!
Simon is one of Engineius’ most helpful drivers and is always there to lend a hand when last-minute jobs require picking up, regardless of the location.

What do you love most about the job?
The chance to travel the country and choose the work I do (and when I want to do it!) 🚗
How do you ensure you deliver vehicles on time?
Planning and communicating with customers, the operations team, and arranging between jobs travel 📑
What has been your best experience with Engineius so far?
Not that long ago, a customer I was collecting from in London gave me a goody bag of snacks, sandwiches, and soft drinks as they were worried I'd be hungry. It was such a kind gesture! 😊
How many miles do you do on average a week?
Last year I drove 67,000 miles - so I would estimate around 1300 miles a week.
What do you think are the secrets behind getting to where you’ve got to?
As said before, planning and communicating with not just customers but the Operations team is crucial to get the best out of the job, and also make sure I can achieve what I’ve set out to do! 💪
What drives you to succeed in this job?
After many years of being employed, it’s great to be able to do a job that I enjoy and can do of my own accord.
Do you reconcile your jobs and expenses on a regular basis?
Yes! Weekly on a spreadsheet, always 📅
What are you most excited about this year?
More work with Engineius, of course! My wife and I also celebrating 30 years together and we’re going to Costa Rica which I’m really excited about. Time to get the sunnies out! 🕶️
What makes Engineius a special place to work?
The chance to pick and choose your work. I love being independent but knowing the Operations team is always available if I need them. It’s the perfect blend.
What is the best advice you can give other drivers?
The best advice I can give is to try not to be too frustrated if things go wrong. To avoid this, make sure to plan your work and have a good working relationship with the customer and the office team. It helps me every week! 🤝
