What do you do for Engineius?
I’m the Lead QA Engineer, part of the Tech department. I ensure that the new features on our portal we deliver are functioning as they should and are bug free.
Also, my team and I we deal with any tech issues drivers, customers or internal colleagues may have.
What motivates you to do well in your role?
It's that awesome feeling you get when you deliver something that makes life easier for our users.
What playlist do you listen to in the car the most?
It’s usually early 00’s Pop and Rap, or just Capital FM.
What do you like most about working for Engineius?
This might sound cliché, but it's definitely the family feeling we have here. Everyone is close-knit, creating a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
What I love most, is the opportunity to gain insight into how the business operates as a whole — something you rarely experience in larger companies where departments can often feels disconnected.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
Doing anything that keeps me away from screens or anything digital. Usually that means cooking dinner or going for a drive to enjoy some twisty roads. After staring at screens all day testing features, it's nice to do something completely different!
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
It has to be Google's Willow Quantum Chip. It's the exciting thing in the tech world right now and it's truly remarkable - they're pushing the boundaries of what computers can do!
Describe one thing you've learnt in your role?
I’ve learned just how responsive end users can be to even the smallest changes, and this has completely transformed the way I approach developing new features.
What’s a hobby or interest you have that might surprise your colleagues?
I enjoy playing Ice Hockey and I'm part of the Amateur Drifting scene. Not your typical tech person hobbies, right? Always surprises people when they find out!
