Movements in Focus - September 2024

This month's photo competition theme, sunsets, brought in a stunning array of submissions that captured the breathtaking beauty of the day's end.

Each entry showcased the unique perspectives and artistic talents of our participants, making the selection process incredibly challenging.

However, one photograph stood out not only for its visual splendor but also for its profound connection to Engineius and the moving story behind it.

I love photography, having done it professionally for a number of years, and I love good looking cars with a soul. This is a VW Scirocco from a movement between Kidderminster and Grimsby. It was a terrible day, weather wise but the sun won the battle in the end! I spotted a nice lay by near home and took the opportunity to take photo of a beautiful car near an awesome sunset.

What made this all the more meaningful is that just down the road from here, my son crashed and suffered serious injuries back in March. A passenger in the oncoming car lost her life. My son suffered a broken leg and some heavy PTSD. I also suffered through seeing this. Had the break been a cm in the wrong direction, he could've lost his life. Thankfully he didn't, and I believe this picture shows that although life can be harsh, in just a short time and with a little work it can also be beautiful.
