BuyaCar guide
Engineius delivers used vehicles for BuyaCar from dealership sites across the UK.
The key to doing a great job for Buyacar movements by following the 4 key stages:
1. Photograph all visible damage to the vehicle
At pick-up, you need to photograph every piece of visible damage to the vehicle, however minor. This enables Buyacar to decide whether to release the vehicle or not. Their customer service team will look at the photos you take using our online portal. You also need to make sure you check the vehicle for different items as listed on the driver checklist.
To summarise, photos should be taken following these principles:
Zero tolerance should be applied. Mark every minor scratch as minor damage. Take photo of minor damage at drop off too.
Exterior, wheels, interior: Take photos of the vehicle exterior, a photo of each wheel alloy, and photos of the vehicle interior (seats & foot wells).
High quality photos: Photos should contain the entire part of the vehicle in question (e.g. entire vehicle must be shown when taking a photo of the near side of the vehicle).
Wheels at ground level: All photos of wheel alloys should be taken square on from wheel level, not from an angle.
Open all doors to visually check for damages. As above, wherever you can see damage, make sure you take a clear photo of it.
Interior damage is just as important as exterior damage; scratches, damaged to seats and trim etc all need to be photographed and uploaded to the portal
2. Make sure to ring BuyaCar to release the vehicle
When you have finished your photos, you must call BuyaCar on 0203 510 6739. You will speak with a representative who will confirm the vehicle condition is sufficiently good to deliver to the customer.
You will be paid the full abort fee if the vehicle condition is not up to scratch. This step is essential. You must not leave the dealer site without speaking with BuyaCar; if you cannot get hold of BuyaCar, call Engineius on 0121 481 2111.
3. Give the new vehicle owner a great first impression
The third stage is to make sure that the new owner of the vehicle has a great experience of receiving their new vehicle. Please make sure you do the following:
Clean vehicle exterior if it has become dirty en route; you can expense all cleaning costs.
Call end user one hour before you arrive at the destination.
Ensure fuel level is above reserve - ensure that there are no fuel warning lights showing.
Please ensure you complete a contactless handover during COVID-19. This is highly important for both you and the customer. Read more here.
4. Check and validate the customer ID at drop off
The final and one of the most important actions is to take a photo of the customer’s ID as part of your drop off photos and ensure it is uploaded to the portal.
You must add this additional photo through the app. Do not take the photo outside of the app and send it in separately.
In summary, put yourself in the shoes of the person buying the car you are moving - how would you like to receive your vehicle? If you think in this way, you will do a great job.
