Driving with Due Care and Attention
Accidents do happen but this is another example of an 'avoidable' accident, where the driver was clearly 'culpable'.
To make matters worse, the driver advised he was on his way into Tesco to do some shopping! Use of customers vehicles for personal use is strictly prohibited.
There is a commonly mistaken belief that drivers are not liable for accident costs as movements are covered by insurance which are arranged on a job-by-job basis.
This is unfortunately not the case, our insurance has a £1,000 excess threshold. In cases where the driver was clearly 'culpable' or technically at fault, they will be obliged to share the pain by contributing an equal share towards the excess fee. For avoidance of doubt, we cap driver liability at £500 (50% of £1,000).
Unless the accident was clearly not the fault of driver, we will also suspend job price payment until the incident has been fully investigated.
Please remember to drive with due care and attention. Not only will it prevent accidents, it's a common police prosecution category - please don't let this happen to you.
Thank you for your attention.
Safe travels,
