We’re very pleased to announce Andrew Pollock as our Driver of the Month for July! Andrew has been an outstanding driver for Engineius. His ability to plan jobs and communicate effectively with the team has shown to be a great source of inspiration to our network. It is evident Andrew puts so much effort and persistence through every job he completes and we’re really looking forward to working with him in the future!

We got in touch with our winner to find out more about why he's so good at what he does!

What do you love most about the job?

The thing I love the most about my job is the freedom and flexibility of being able to choose how much or little I want to do. The variety of different vehicles that need to be transported makes for an exciting challenge and I enjoy the views and journeys that come with it!

How do you ensure you deliver vehicles on time?

To ensure I deliver vehicles on time I allow at least 30 minutes either side of the collection and delivery times. You never know what lies ahead and it’s important to factor in any delays or traffic that may come your way. I have a strong background in planning so this has helped me plan my journeys constructively.

What has been your best experience with Engineius so far?

I remember I once had an early morning start to deliver a car from Plymouth all the way to Aberdeen with an urgent delivery time at the dockside by 8 am. It was a great feeling to arrive on time to watch the car board onto the ferry with no stress!

How many miles do you do on average a week?

On average, I drive about 1000 miles a week. It can be challenging at times but the benefits far outweigh the extensive hours spent on the road!

What do you think are the secrets behind getting to where you’ve got to?

I often go by the saying ‘it is what it is’. Sometimes life throws us obstacles but it’s important to recognise them as lessons instead of burdens. I think the biggest secret I can give is to make sure you are in a calm state of mind. This has given me great flexibility and availability that helps me succeed in my job!

What drives you to succeed in this job?

What motivates me to succeed in my job is to take responsibility for every movement that I do. I always go the extra mile (quite literally) and this motivation enables me to perform to the best of my ability!

Do you reconcile your jobs and expenses on a regular basis?

I do my accounting regularly. My background in planning helps me reconcile my jobs and expenses productively.

What are you most excited for this year?

I am most excited about the continued expansion and growth of the company. It’s great to see Engineius grow into the automotive industry and it makes me proud to be part of it. Judging by how things have been going this year, it seems that there will be loads of opportunities for work in the near and distant future for myself and the rest of the Engineius network.

What makes Engineius a special place to work?

I find Engineius a special place to work because it is very personable and they are always there to help me out when I need it. The support and communication from the Ops team is amazing! The Ops team has gone from strength to strength, and the Engineius Plus benefits are very special and reassuring.

What is the best advice you can give other drivers?

The best advice I can offer for any other driver is to look very carefully at each job before accepting it. It’s important to check if it is a feasible option for you to take and it's better to pass by the job than to be unhappy later down the line. If there are any doubts just ask Engineius, they are just a phone call away!

By winning Driver of the Month, you not only have the opportunity to feature on the company website, but you will also receive a brand new high-vis Engineius-branded jacket as a thank you from the Engineius team for all your hard work! Could you be our August Driver of the Month?
