Driver Of The Month: July 2022

This month we have enhanced our DOTM blog series by highlighting two more category winners - Newcomer of the Month and Operation’s Choice Award.

What do you love most about the job?
Flexibility to work around my home life and I like travelling to new places that I may not have necessarily visited before.
I also enjoy driving a range of different vehicles that I have never driven before - my favourite being the Jaguar XF.
How do you ensure you deliver vehicles on time?
Planning always first, I then leave as early as possible to start the day.
I also try to plan work around the times on the jobs so I can ensure the deliveries are within the time frame required ⏳
What has been your best experience with Engineius so far?
During a global pandemic, we were able to still carry on working and supplying vehicles to those who needed them, whilst planning and remaining as safe as possible.
It was good to still be able to provide vehicles for key workers 😊
How many miles do you do on average a week?
Each week is different depending on how many days I do, but it can be anywhere from 300 and 1000.
What do you think are the secrets behind getting to where you’ve got to?
Planning, working out the best routes and public transport links,
Also, enjoying the job makes it a lot easier - staying calm as we all know the roads can be very unpredictable.
What drives you to succeed in this job?
Helping others whether that’s another driver, Ops team or the customer.
I enjoy trying to help wherever I can to ensure the right service is delivered! 👍
Do you reconcile your jobs and expenses regularly?
I keep a daily spreadsheet to show each job, and I keep all receipts to show the expenses, which allows me to have everything filed away ready for the taxman 💼
What are you most excited about this year?
Travel more, and push myself to achieve as much as possible.
As well as, hoping Liverpool wins the League!! ⚽
What makes Engineius a special place to work?
I like the ability to plan and work for myself, the flexibility to be able to decide how far you want to travel each day and finding the app easy to use when looking for work.
Not only that, the Ops team are a bunch of great people who I get on with and will help as much as possible!!!
What is the best advice you can give other drivers?
Plan ahead, always try to have a Plan B if possible. Don’t take on too much work, we always come across hiccups along the way!
