Employee of the Month: Jack Zhang

Congratulations to Jack Zhang, our Mobile and Web Developer who won Engineius’ Employee of the Month! 👏

Jack joined our Tech team in May to help improve, develop and monitor our Engineius app that our drivers use. He lives by our values and consistently supports the team and colleagues, not only in his job but by also supplying snacks!

Read more to find out what interesting thing Jack read this week - did you happen to know about this too? or was it a new interesting fact for you also? Only one way to find out 👇

What do you do for Engineius?

I am a Mobile and Web Developer and I look at ways to improve and add new features to our mobile app. The last feature I developed was the map view and the job search functionality in the mobile app 🗺

What motivates you to do well in your role?

Coding is always about learning new things and I generally just enjoy problem-solving and playing around with new features before it is released to our drivers.

Not only that, but I find Engineius a great company to work for and has friendly staff!

What playlist do you listen to in the car the most?

Just the latest pop music that you hear on Capital FM

What do you like most about working for Engineius?

The people at Engineius are very friendly, and if you ask for help, they are always willing to assist. Also, you always know if there is a problem or if you have opinions you want to raise your manager is always on hand to listen and offer advice/solutions - which is very rare in most tech companies.

The building is also in central Birmingham which is great 🤩

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

Probably gaming, but I am currently looking to build a new PC, but unfortunately prices are too high at the moment 😥

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?

Just realised Winston Churchill was born in Blenheim Palace <- a great place to visit, and it is massive!!!

Describe one thing you've learnt in your role?

I’ve learnt different programming skills and frameworks.
