Mental Health: Looking After Those Who Look After You

A recent Mail on Sunday’s poll revealed that 40% of people across the UK believed their mental health had become worse during the Covid-19 pandemic. Here, we identify the key reasons why drivers, in particular, are suffering, and what Engineius is doing to help.

It is widely known that drivers are vulnerable to risk from suffering from mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and stress, which can lead to negative driver performance. These issues stem from:

  • Longer working hours and intense concentration

  • Additional work demands and tighter deadlines

  • Increased isolation

  • Reduced contact with people due to social distancing measures and lack of social interaction

  • Heavier traffic conditions

  • Uncertainty surrounding journey times

What is Engineius doing to help?

Engineius is committed to making the world of vehicle movement a better place. We want our drivers to feel reassured during their time with us, this is why earlier last year, we partnered with Collective Benefits to create Engineius Plus, our driver rewards programme to aid our mission to improve the everyday lives of our driver network.

What is available to Engineius Plus drivers?

We strive to ensure Engineius Plus provides the safety net for those that need it most, and we will continue to expand the scheme even further, to look after our drivers who look after our customers.

If you have thoughts on any matters relating to driver wellbeing, we would love to hear these from you.
