Engineius Saves Fleets Over 10 Million Tonnes in CO2 Emissions
Engineius has saved fleets over 10 million tonnes in CO2 emissions since they launched in 2018 by not using chaser vehicles. Just one of their greener practices helping to support fleet customers towards their own carbon-neutral goals.
Before launching, Engineius conducted a study with a major utility business highlighting that using chaser vehicles resulted in 24 miles driven for every 10 miles required. These findings ensured that Engineius adopted a different approach when drivers are moving between pick-up and drop-off sites.
Engineius’ multi-award-winning platform intelligently joins suitable movements together where possible, thus reducing empty legs. Where this is not possible, drivers utilise public transport to travel between locations.
Chris Clibbery, CEO and Founder of Engineius comments; “Our vision was to make vehicle movement easy but to also adopt best practices and raise industry standards. Engineius provides vehicle movement for customers from all automotive sectors, who benefit from each other through the scale and diversity of their vehicle movements along with geographical locations.”
“Fuel savings, alongside labour and operational costs are also achieved by not using chaser vehicles. Imagine paying for 240 miles of fuel on a 100-mile movement!”
Engineius believe that they have the greenest credentials in the vehicle movement arena and endeavour to make smart environmental choices. They drive rather than transport EVs; as transporting would be opposed to the environmental cause, and they annually pay to carbon offset their own business through Climate Partner - currently supporting renewable energy projects in Asia.
Clibbery concludes: “Carbon reduction isn’t all about electrification, and small wins matter in the road to net zero – though we are proud to say a saving of over 10 million tonnes of CO2 is actually a big win for the environment!”
